Stacy Green seems to love Minnesota’s cold and snow! She’s followed up her series debut, in The Girls in the Snow with another stellar Nikki Hunt chiller, One Perfect Grave. I’d strongly recommend reading them in order to understand the characters and their complex pasts.When a young driver skids off an icy road into a deep gully on a dark night, she makes a shocking discovery. Just before she passes out, she tells the 911 dispatcher that there are two dead bodies at the bottom of the old bridge.The county sheriff’s deputy calls Special Agent Nikki Hunt to come to the scene; Nikki fears the worst because a nine-year-old boy, Kellen Rhodes, had been missing for two days, and Nikki was assisting with the case. Could this be the child and his mother?With her worst fears quickly realized, Nikki and her team of Special Agent Liam and forensics expert Courtney get down to business. The first people they talk to are Kellen’s guardians, his aunt Maggie and her husband Joe. They had custody of Kellen while his mother Dana was in treatment for substance abuse. It gives a sense of authenticity to the work.
